Dvořák’s

New World Symphony

My Artist Book

Creating an artistic interpretation of a symphonic masterpiece using synesthesia.

As a conductor the score study Is an essential part of my practice. It is a tome that contains the blueprint of great orchestral music. It’s the job of a conductor to study and interpret the score. so that it we can us it to lead the orchestra.

My synesthesia added a unique layer to score studying. With my mind connecting sound and visual senses it enables me to develop a personal relationship with the music.

I wanted to use art as a way to share what I see in music. What better way to than to use the orchestral score?

I had a successful pilot project with Mozart’s Symphony No. 38. Making a series of artworks using each page of the first movement of his symphony.

I decided to take on a more ambitious project with one of my favorite symphonies.

Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 "New World”
